We were grateful that we could be in Utah to say goodbye to Grandma Wignall and to attend her funeral. I didn't know her very well but one thing I will always remember is that she was an amazing seamstress and made the most beautiful quilts. We received four from her just the first year we were married. She was very generous with her talent. Matt's favorite memories of her are when he was young she would take him out for his birthday and let him eat anywhere he wanted. Then she gave him twenty dollars (every kids dream, right?) and took him to buy a gift. That was always the highlight of his birthdays growing up.
The service was wonderful, and afterward we went to the graveside. Matt and his brothers were the pall bearers along with his cousins Craig and Brent.
Grandpa Wignall
The studly Bushman boys and one very studly Mecham. :)
Grace Slater is Matt's fourth great grandmother who crossed the plains in the Martin Handcart Company. She lost all of her hair on the trek. Matt has always felt a special bond with her, and she is who we named Grace after. Her husband was William Wignall. We were glad to be able to see their graveside after the funeral.
I was lucky enough to be able to make the video for Grandma Wignall's Funeral.
The pictures are SO fun I was dying. I love, love really old vintage pictures.
(I accidentally uploaded the draft, so it isn't very clean and some of the pictures are out of order but you will get the general idea!:)

Awesome Suz I loved it!!!
I found your blog when doing a search on Grace Wignall. I am also a descendent of Grace. I am a descendent of her son James. I know many generations have been blessed because of their faith. We've also visited their headstone at the cemetery.
