turn your face to the sun

Ah, Spring!  I love this season, and each time it rolls around seem to feel renewed hope for the year ahead.  We've been busy at our house, and it seems that life sometimes moves faster than I would like.  With graduation fast approaching we are left with so many thoughts about the blessings we have experienced in the past and as we feel the warmth of the sun--hope and excitement for the future.

For me personally, Spring is a very motivating season.  I always feel the desire to be better and to more fully live my life.  It has been fun to make goals this week and think about the things that I want most.  As I have evaluated my life I have realized some "spring cleaning" is in order.  I want to fill my life more fully with the things that matter most, it seems to be a constant struggle but worth every bit of effort.

Speaking of things that are worthy of effort,
our two little "law school bookend" babies are definitely that...

I was inspired by their cuteness yesterday, so of course I pulled out the camera!
This girl has a smile that could light up the world.  She definitely lights up mine!

Proof that she is still an excellent sleeper, this was her halfway through pictures..;)
her eyelashes are unbelievable.
I mainly posted this picture so I can remember those arm rolls.  The. CUTEST.

My spunky, thoughtful Grace

This was seriously the best one...:)
A good Spring craft...

I think one of the best parts of Spring is Spring Break,
which begins tomorrow night (and lasts over a week).
It might possibly be the thing I miss the very most when Matt graduates. :)
For now, we'll soak it up!

Bella Newborn Pictures

I had SO much fun taking these, she slept really well.
Here are a few pictures, don't worry I took hundreds-- she is just 5 days old...
there is nothing like this brand new stage of life.  Pure heaven.

{Birth Announcement}

Two and a half

She does this everyday.  Usually this "hat" is filled with flowers.  Her favorite game is dumping them all over the place and wearing it around the house.
She especially loves it when we compliment her on how beautiful she looks.
My little girl is really growing up.  Her favorite thing to ask right now is, "why?"
Isn't she a little young for that?!
The best is how she says it, Matt and I crack up all of the time over it.

I keep thinking that she's going to become more shy as she gets older,
which she may, but so far the older she get the more extroverted she becomes.
She loves waving, smiling, and complimenting everyone she meets wherever we happen to be.
People easily fall in love with her.

Jewelry is still her favorite thing, everywhere we go you can be sure if someone is wearing
a beautiful piece Grace will be quick to take notice and compliment.  Lately she likes complimenting people's hair, even if it is the lady at the drive through window! :)  She is good at helping make people's day.  Especially mine.

Also new to growing up is an increase in crazy tantrums.
Yep, and you never know when one might strike. :)
We are all learning the best way to handle these with Grace, it is usually best not to respond emotionally...
even if it does mean locking myself in my room.

She loves, I repeat LOVES being a big sister.
The first thing out of her mouth in the morning is, "see Bella!"  She adores her!
She never gets sick of "playing" with her or holding her hand.
I am sure they will be the best of buddies.
More proof of Grace becoming a big girl?  Here she is singing her abc song.
